Website and Database Backup on Xcitium

1. Website Backup Setup on Xcitium
The Website Details screen is where you connect your website files to Xcitium Backup.

Step 1: Click on Settings > Website Details.

 

Step 2: Confirm the Website URL is correct.
Example: yourdomain.com (without www, http://, or https://)

Step 3: Select the Connection Type.

Step 4: Enter the Hostname (server IP / server name), Username and Password of your FTP account.

Step 5: Confirm the Port.
For FTP, the default port is 21

Step 6: Enter the Root Directory.
Example: /public_html, or /

Step 7: Click Test Connection to check whether Xcitium can connect to your website files


Note: The site registration may take 2 to 3 minutes. But not in all cases, when you try to register the domain with https or invalid domain name or with not having a valid origin IP for the concern domain. Then the site registration may fails or takes time. Please make sure to add the domain name without http, https or www. Once the site is added you can proceed to add the website details and set up the back up.

2. Database Backup Setup on Xcitium
The Database Options screen is where you connect your website database to Xcitium Backup.

Step 1: Click on Settings > Database Options.

 


Step 2: Select the Database Type.
Example: MySQL

Step 3: Enter the Database Host.

Step 4: Confirm the Port.
For MySQL, the default port is 3306

Step 5: Enter the Database Name, Username and Password.

Step 6: Click Test Connection to check whether Xcitium can connect to your database.

Note: If the connectivity fails, ensure you whitelist all the IPs displayed on the Xcitium Database Options screen by going to your cPanel >> Remote MySQL.  Refer: Remote MySQL® | cPanel & WHM Documentation 

 

- If you have more than 1 database for a single website, you need to configure it as separate site and add the database.
For example, if domain.com uses 5 separate databases, each database must be configured under a separate domain. Configure domain.com with the first database, then create domain1.com and configure it with the second database, create domain2.com and configure it with the third database, and continue this process until all 5 databases have been configured.


3. Scheduling Backups on Xcitium

Step 1: Navigate to Schedule.

 

Step 2: Select the Backup Frequency and Backup Start Time.
Keep Disable Schedule Backup turned off

Step 3: Click Save to apply the schedule.
