Manage PTR Records on VPS/Dedicated Servers
PTR Records are used for reverse DNS configuration. Reverse DNS (rDNS) is a method of resolving an IP address into a domain name. This is the opposite of DNS where the domain name is resolved to an IP address.
You can add a PTR record on your VPS/Dedicated hosting from the server management panel by following the steps below.
Step 1: Log in to the BigRock Customer Portal
1. Open your web browser.
2. Go to: https://myorders.bigrock.in
3. Log in using your BigRock account credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to the Orders Section
1. From the top navigation menu, click on Orders.
2. This will display a list of all services associated with your account.
Step 3: Locate the VPS or Dedicated Order
1. Use the search bar to search for the domain name associated with your VPS order.
2. Click on the relevant VPS hosting order from the search results.
Step 4: Access the PTR records from the Server Hosting Management Page
1. Under your VPS/Dedicated server hosting plan, locate the Hosting section.
2. Click on Go to Server Panel.
3. This will open the Server management dashboard.
4. In the Server Management Panel, click Manage PTR records.
Add/update the PTR value:
1. On the IP Address Management page, enter the PTR value which you want to associate with the IP address.
2. Click the check mark to save the value.
3. Once the records are updated, you will see a success message.
Delete PTR value:
1. On the IP Address Management page, click the delete option to remove the record associated with the IP address.
2. You will see a confirmation message once the record is deleted.
