Domain Name related Rules

.IN | .भारत Domain Registration:

• Must use: 1-63 characters
• Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 1st or last characters of the domain name)
• Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & and #)
• Registration length: Min 1 and Max 10 years

Renewal and Auto-Renewal:

• Renewal length: 1-10 years 
• If you have auto-renewal enabled, we’ll attempt to charge the associated payment method and renew your domain prior to its expiration date.
• If auto-renew fails or isn't enabled at all, we’ll park your domain. A parked domain will display a temporary web page when the domain name is entered in a web browser.

Domain Name Transfer: 

• Transfer to BigRock: Supported
• Transfer away from BigRock: Supported
• Domain Privacy-Protection: Not supported
• Contact Updates: Supported
  
  

Name Servers and Child Name Servers:

• Each domain name needs to have at least 2 Name Servers and may have up to 13 Name Servers.
• There is no limitation on the number of Child Name Servers you may create.
• You may associate up to 13 IP Address per Child Name Server.
• You may associate IPv6 Address in Child Name Servers.
• You may modify both Name Servers as well as any Child Name Servers associated with your domain name.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Only Indian registrants are permitted. All new registrations, transfers-in, and contact modifications must use India as the Registrant country.
• The use of disposable or temporary email providers for Registrant contacts is strictly prohibited.
• The Registrant's actual IP address must be captured at the time of registration. The use of VPNs or masked IPs is no longer permitted.
• Mandatory Electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) and Registrant email verification are required for key domain operations. Registrants have 15 days to complete these verifications.
