How to Transfer a Domain Name to BigRock

Transfer Your Existing Domain to BigRock

A transfer to BigRock means moving your domain registration from your current registrar to BigRock.

You will first need to prepare your domain name for transfer at the registrar where it is currently managed. Once this is done, you can complete the remaining steps at BigRock.

Typically, domain transfers can take up to 7 days to complete. Depending on your current registrar, some domains may be released earlier once the transfer has been initiated.

Before You Begin

Before starting the transfer process, ensure that your domain meets the following requirements. With a few exceptions, these steps apply to most domain names:

• The domain must have been registered or transferred more than 60 days ago and must not be in Redemption Status (expired domains can still be transferred).
• Any domain lock or security settings must be removed at the current registrar.
• An Authorization Code / Domain Transfer Secret Key must be requested from the current registrar/registrant.

Steps to Transfer a Domain Name to BigRock

1. Start the domain transfer process using the following link: https://www.bigrock.in/domain-registration/domain-transfer
2. Enter the domain name you wish to transfer to BigRock and click on the Transfer button.
    
   
3. Review the items added to the cart and click on Checkout.
    
   
4. If you are a new customer, you will be prompted to sign up. Existing customers can log in using their BigRock credentials. If you are already logged in, you will be taken directly to the next page.
    
   
5. Select a payment method and complete the payment for the domain transfer.
    
   
6. Once the invoice has been paid, you will need to provide the Domain (Transfer) Secret Key / Authorization Code.
7. To submit the authorization code:
   1. Log in to your BigRock account: https://myorders.bigrock.in/dashboard
   2. Go to the Orders section and click on the domain name you wish to transfer.
   3. Enter the Domain (Transfer) Secret Key / Authorization Code and click Submit.
   4. After the authorization code is submitted and approved by the Registrant Contact, the current registrar will be notified of the transfer request.

The current registrar will send an email to the Registrant Contact to confirm the transfer request. If the transfer is not denied by either the Registrant Contact or the current registrar, the domain name will be successfully transferred to BigRock within 7 days.
