Database management in Plesk

Database management in Plesk allows users to easily create, configure, and manage databases through a centralized control panel, making it simple to handle data storage, users, and permissions for websites and applications. 

Steps to create, delete a Database and Database users:


Step 1: LOGIN TO PLESK

1. Log in to BigRock Portal
 Go to https://myorders.bigrock.in/ 

 

2. Locate the Windows Hosting order under Orders 

 

3. Click on Go to Plesk under Manage Webhosting 

 


CREATING A DATABASE: 

1. Click on Website& Domains or Domains, select a domain, and open a Dashboard 

 

2.  Click on Database and navigate to Add Database

 

3. In the Database name text box, type the database name. 

4. In the Database server list box, select the type of database you want to create.

5. In the Related site list box, select a site to associate with the new database, or accept the default value.

6. To create a user for the database, under Users, select the Create a database user check box.

7. In the Database user name text box, type the username that you want to use.

8. In the New password and Confirm password text boxes, type a password for the database user.

9. Alternatively, you can click Generate, and Plesk generates a random, strong password for you.  

10. Click on Create Database. 

 

MANAGING DATABASE USER PRIVILEGES

1. Log in to Plesk. As mentioned in Step 1

2. Click on Website& Domains or Domains, select a domain, and open a Dashboard 

 

3.
Click on Database and navigate to Add Database

4. Click User Management.

 

5. Click the name of the database user you want to manage.

6. To change the database user's password, in the New password and Confirm password text boxes, type a password for the database user.

7. Alternatively, you can click Generate, and Plesk generates a random, strong password for you.

8. To change the database to which the user is assigned, select a database in the Database list box.

9. To change the database user's privileges for the selected database, in the Role list box, select an access level.

10. Click Apply. Plesk updates the user's privileges for the database.
