Adding, deleting & modifying DNS records in Plesk
DNS records control how a domain connects to services such as websites and email. The Plesk control panel provides an easy interface to add, modify, or remove DNS records like A, CNAME, MX, and TXT for domains and subdomains.
DNS management option:
This can be achieved by following the steps below:
- Log in to your BigRock Control Panel at https://myorders.bigrock.in
- Search for and select the hosting order.
- Under the hosting product, click Go to Plesk.
- Once logged in, click on Hosting and DNS under the Domain section
- Navigate to DNS option
Add DNS Record
- Click the Add button and you will see the following interface
- Select the type of record you want to add (A, CNAME, MX, PTR, and more).
- Enter the domain name for which you wish to add the record, in case of subdomains enter the sub-domain name, if you wish to add the record for the main domain leave this box blank.
- Enter the record entry in the last box and click OK.
- You will be prompted to Confirm the changes or Revert them in the next screen and Click Update to save the changes.
Delete DNS record
- Checkbox on the record you wish to remove.
- Click on the Remove button.
- Click Yes on the dialog box to confirm the deletion.
Disable DNS Zone
Note: Disabling the DNS zone will ensure the DNS records added on the Plesk panel will not affect your website's resolution. Hence, ensure that you have your domain name pointing to the appropriate nameservers or DNS zone before disabling it from here.
